Personal counselling services in South and East Auckland

For compassion & strict confidentiality

Pakuranga Counselling Centre counsellors deal with a broad spectrum of counselling issues (see below). Many of our counsellors have specialised areas of expertise as well as their work in general counselling. Our counsellors work within the Code of Ethics set down by the NZ Counselling Association, of which confidentiality is paramount.

Counselling Fees

Our pricing schedule includes a subsidy for your first session, bringing them to $72 per session unless you are a couple, thereafter followed by the full fee of $92 per session for subsequent visits, unless you are a couple. Fees for couples, defined as two adults 18+ the fees are $100 for a 60 min session, slightly more for an extended session of 75 mins. We accept cash, cheque or EFTPOS, and do not have credit card facilities. The fee is payable on the day of the appointment, Talk to us if you have circumstances of hardship, we may be able to assist. We also provide further subsidies in cases where there is genuine financial hardship.  

Subsidies

We invite you to speak to our administrator in Auckland if you are facing financial hardship. We try not to turn away anyone in genuine need of counselling. We are committed to making counselling affordable to all who need it (as each person's circumstances are different). 

Cancellation Policy

If you cannot attend your appointment for any reason, we require 24 hours notice of cancellation. A $35 fee will be charged for late cancellation. Please cancel by telephone (09 576 4248), email, or respond to the SMS message.
Reminder Service

SMS or email reminders are sent two working days before the counselling sessions. Please respond to the reminder asap if you cannot make your appointment.

We have counsellors available at our centre in Pakuranga who speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Fiji Hindi and Afrikaans.

Government Assistance

Work and Income

You may be eligible for subsidised counselling services through Work & Income, if you are already entitled to a benefit or if your income is under a certain level. We have the forms and can assist you with these.

ACC

Some of our counsellors are contracted to ACC for counselling services related to sensitive claims (sexual abuse which has occurred within New Zealand).
