Services Offered

For compassion & strict confidentiality

Pakuranga Counselling Centre counsellors deal with a broad spectrum of counselling issues (see below). Many of our counsellors have specialised areas of expertise as well as their work in general counselling. Our counsellors work within the Code of Ethics set down by the NZ Association of Counsellors or NZ Christian Counsellors Association, of which confidentiality is paramount.

We offer a variety of counselling services to individuals, couples, children and families. Our services include, but are not limited to:

Compassionate support to help you navigate grief, process loss and adjust to life after change.

Counselling provides a safe, confidential and supportive space to explore personal challenges, develop coping strategies and work towards positive change.

Support to help you understand anxiety and stress, manage overwhelm, develop effective coping strategies, and restore balance and wellbeing.

Neurodivergence Support provides practical, strengths-based counselling to better understand individual differences and develop strategies and tools for communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs and everyday life.

Support for couples who want to strengthen their relationship, improve communication and work through challenges together. Couples counselling can help partners better understand each other's needs, identify unhelpful patterns, manage conflict and rebuild trust and connection.

Practical support to understand anxiety, manage panic and regain a sense of control.

A safe, confidential and supportive space to process experiences of abuse and begin your journey towards healing.

Child and youth counselling provides a safe, supportive environment with age-appropriate tools and activities to help young people express their feelings, navigate challenges, build coping skills and develop confidence and resilience.

Non-judgemental support to understand addiction, explore underlying challenges and work towards positive change.

Support to understand anger, develop healthier ways to respond and improve relationships and wellbeing.

Our goal is to provide personalised care to every client and tailor our approach to meet their unique needs.

  • "It was helpful to have definition of my thoughts and feelings, and how to manage control over the direction of my thoughts. My counsellor made me feel at ease. She created an atmosphere of trust, which was a huge leap for me. I appreciate that she drilled down to what was relevant to myself – no time wasted in reaching the points"

  • "I initially found the use of the whiteboard helpful, it externalised what I was thinking, then using a mindmap rather than writing thoughts during wakeful periods was extremely helpful – more structured and constructive. The use of imaging (forest, flowers) was helpful. Thank you!! I thought I might not achieve anything from a session. You knew where to look for the stubborn, hidden stuff."

  • "I was given space and time to process emotions, feelings and tools on how to move forward.”
