Anxitey & Panic Attacks
Anxiety is a natural response to stress, uncertainty or situations that may feel challenging or threatening. A certain amount of anxiety can be helpful, alerting us to potential concerns and preparing us to respond. However, when anxiety becomes frequent, intense or difficult to manage, it can begin to affect everyday life, relationships, work, study, sleep and overall wellbeing.
Panic attacks can be particularly frightening. They can involve a sudden and intense feeling of fear or distress, sometimes accompanied by physical sensations such as a racing heart, shortness of breath, dizziness, shaking, sweating or feeling disconnected from your surroundings. Understanding what is happening during these experiences can help reduce fear and develop greater confidence in managing them.
You don't need to wait until anxiety becomes overwhelming before seeking support. Counselling can be helpful whether you are experiencing occasional anxiety, ongoing worry, panic attacks or anxiety that is beginning to interfere with your everyday life.
You are not alone in experiencing anxiety or panic. With the right support and practical strategies, it is possible to develop a greater understanding of your anxiety, regain a sense of control and feel more confident navigating everyday life.
